Boca del Toro, Panama

Up on the Caribbean coast of Panama near the Costa Rican border is the island of Boca del Toro, one of a collection of islands reached by motorboat. They are gorgeous islands covered in palm trees, jungle and small laid back townships with a mixture of Caribbean, Panamanian and tourist. The transport around is small motor boats and all day tours go out to see dolphins, snorkel coral reefs with beautiful fish and swim on glorious beaches. Right out of a tourist brochure with seemingly endless palm tree lined beaches to choose from!
Ciaran as usual managed to find the tiny and deadly red arrow frog in the palm trees and got us all excited by noting a one metre barracuda prowling the snorkeling area we had just got out of. Tonight we are hoping to see the giant sea turtles coming out to lay eggs but no flash photography allowed so there will be no pictures.
