London, England

Last days in London were spent (still) on the underground but also visiting Hamleys (5 storey toy store which oddly the children enjoyed), travelling around the centre in the top of a double decker bus, loving the National Gallery (except bored Romany) and all being a bit underwhelmed by the static displays in the British Museum (nice mummies, but the bog man is missing and the manuscript collection has moved to the British Library). The dancers are from the childrens show to celebrate the Queens 80th birthday filming outside Buckingham Palace that we stumbled across.
And on our final afternoon what better to do than walk along the Thames to our flat and stop in the local pub for a pint. Amused by the kids passion for the local squirrels and impressed by the sight of a river rat leaving the pub. Also really liked that the water heater in our flat broke while there so had the Public school experience of cold showers for a week (but such a lovely flat). You have to enjoy the irony that the only places on our trip with cold water showers were Easter Island and London - two such primitive backwaters.
And yes it did rain for the first day of Wimbledon.
Now off to wonderful Western Australia where the sun always shines and the living is easy (except for poor Susie who is doing a locum to fund our trip).
